I have just read the comments by John Ryan regarding our 15 point appeal.
I find it absolutely amazing at the level of ignorance being demonstrated
here. This is the chairman of a club which will be most affected by the
return of the points, so apart from the point that he should have made it
his business to know exactly what the situation was, it also shows that he
and his ilk did not listen to or understand Leeds point when they voted to
support the FL penalty. This is what he said;
"It would actually mean that promotion could be decided in a court of law."
As opposed to the 19th tee of a portugese golf club? Promotion should be
decided on the pitch, end of.
"What would happen next? Would Bournemouth, Luton, Rotherham - all the
other teams that have lost 10 points, take on the Football League? I think
it's a nonsense."
No you fucking idiot, that 10 point penalty was explicitly in the FL
rules. Leeds have already swallowed that same 10 point penalty. We are
not appealing that 10 point penalty. We are appealing about the
ADDITIONAL 15 point penalty.
Luckily he also said "In my opinion they will fail. If they do succeed it
would be an incredibly sad day for football". Based on his understanding
of the appeal and not being able to tell the difference between 10, 15 and
25 I think his opinion is worthless.
Correct me if I am wrong, but when Doncaster were going to the wall didnt
Leeds agree to play a friendly match to raise funds for them, and weren't
leeds fans asked to donate money for the cause - on this very list too?
