I'm assuming the play offs will start around May 12th, about a week after the end of the season. If the result was made known in 3 weeks then that would be around May 12th, i.e. the same day. If it's 4 weeks then that would be around the day of the second leg.
So what happens? Donny or Carlisle say are suddenly told that they've been moved from 2nd to 3rd so need to get the team coach out and hop over to Forest for a game the next day? If it's 4 weeks and we get our 15 points back then what happens? Does the team who gets bumped into the play offs, then take the score from the first game? Obviously not, does that then mean that the first play off match would be done again?
Obviously this doesn't work, SURELY the arbitration HAS to take into account the urgency of the matter.
What would be the point in delaying the announcement? Is the plan to just make the announcement so late that the FL can say there's no time to do anything about it? If we get those points back after the season will they then count for next season? Imagine the uproar from other teams if THAT was the case! Say we got promoted through the playoffs and THEN got a 15 point lead in the Championship! Of course that will never happen but I really can't see why they would need to delay the announcement.
