Been thinking... there is a way the FL can get out of the mess it's created  
without upsetting anybody.
 
Goes like this.
 
Give Leeds 15pts back, resulting in automatic promotion.
 
Automatically promote 3rd place team - so Carlisle or Doncaster go up too,  
giving them nothing to gripe about.
 
Playoffs as normal but for 4th, 5th, 6th & 7th. So a bonus for Brighton  or 
whoever finishes 7th.
 
So 4 up this year, meaning one more team in Championship next season for  one 
season only. There's enough slack in the schedules to accommodate this -  
only problem would be last day of the season, where two teams would not be  
playing. 
 
Four down from Championship next season to restore status quo.
 
This would mean one more home game for each Championship team and one less  
for each L1 team, but this could be balanced by a one-season redistribution of  
TV revenue to compensate the L1 teams.
