With regard to your report and others on the web, there is a consistent theme, our midfield is just not good enough. No matter what combination (some are better than others) we consistently get dominated. When we get promoted I am not sure if any of our current players will shine in the Championship. Douglas (Big heart, good stamina, poor footballer, too slow), Pruttton (Big heart, shows glimpses of ability on the ball, too slow), Kilkenny (flatters to deceive, promises much, the facts show he delivers little), Johnson (glimpses of ability, but only just keeping his head above water at this level, championship ur havin a laugh!).
Looking through rose tinted specs you all may say I'm being harsh. In reality I would like to see us keep the promotion momentum up "when" we go up (many sides challenge on their first season up). Reality is that not one of our midfield is really coveted by clubs in this league, so as for championship clubs? A slow ineffectual midfield is one of the contributory factors in our decline, I hope the new boss can see this and changes the culture/type of player he signs.
Summary: Heart and effort are appreciated, but I think this should be a given for all players and therefore don't feel players should be over praised by the fans (its their job!).
Pace and ability on the ball will get you results (West Brom for all their inconsistency are head and shoulders above any team in the championship ability wise) and back in the Premiership.
