I was in the Yeovil end; with a Yeovil supporting friend, and not with
the seemingly larger group that caused the consternation. They'd
apparently been singing away since before the kick-off, and what annoyed
the Yeovil supporter next to me was that the stewards had ignored and
not removed them (We'd arrived just before kick-off, having spent a
fruitless half-hour in the home supporters beer tent, only to have them
run out of glasses just as we made it to the bar). What annoyed him even
more was that, in order to "deal" with the situation after the kick-off,
a whole troupe of coppers had been stationed in front of the terrace,
staring at the Leeds fans. This meant his little lad couldn't see
anything of the pitch - and if they went past the thin blue line and
stood next to the pitch, the stewards would move them on...

Eventually, they brought in a couple of robocops with hand-held cameras
who filmed for most of the 1st-half, then sent a few police into the
crowd at half-time to remove any obvious fans. At least, there were no
more renditions of Marching on Together for the second half. I don't
know if there were any fisticuffs, most people around me were either of
the view the stewards should have been aware it was going to happen and
sorted it at the start, or that if all they were doing was singing it
wasn't really a problem.

Record attendance at Huish Park anyway - more than when Liverpool was
there a few years back.
