Heartily concur with dave.
What a fantastic achievement..................if there was any justice (which of course we all know there isn't) Leeds United should be a complete shoe-in for any Team-of-the-Season Award.
Two excellent points from Dave I would like to reinforce........
1) Huge credit to all those players who played in those first games after such a terribly disconcerting pre-season with even their wages not giuaranteed. Players like Prutton & Hughes, who threw in their lot with us despite all the uncertainty. Becks as well, who I'm guessing could have stayed at Scunts (Incredinly one div above us). Douglas; no doubt RW would say that it's only b/c no one came in for him, but what did playing in Div 3 do to his international ambitions? capar as well, who i think probably harbours ambitions with Denmark.
2) The pressure of each game. I've only seen one match all season (Hudds away), but that was enough to testify that the pressure on Leeds players was huge. As dave said, these are not top internationals who are used to this pressure, like John Arne Riise (what? Oh.)
One thing I disagree with Dave about..............these players will still deserve all that kudos, irrespective of the outcome of the playoffs.
Logically, I really hope that all that big game pressure we have got used to will really give us an advantage now. But my heart tells me that Leeds just don't win k.o tournaments anymore, so I am expecting the worst.
P.S.............my vote wd be for Kenton at LB............thought he did well at hudds and was unlucky to make way for Sheehan. But what about Rui? He started out at RB for us IIRC.
P.P.S. have to admit that Chels v Man U was a fantastic match. Hate them both but hate Chels rather less (mainly due to a sneaking admiration for Ballack)..the Ballack-drogba contest was unbelievable!
