I've now had time to read the full text of the Arbitration decision (The 
Award) and it's very clear that Mark Taylor comes in for a helluva lot 
of flak from the tribulnal.  He is singled out as the reason for much of 
the delay in bringing the case to a tribunal and at one point is accused 
of involving Barnsley in a High Court move without their approval.

What Leeds United signed and why they signed it is made quite clear in 
the award.  Basically it was either 15 points or down to League 2.

Bates and Mawinney are not mates are they?  bates apparently using 
"blunt and direct terms" when discussing the matter with his Lordship.

The Award makes interesting and informative reading.  It certainly makes 
some of the statements I've seen (both here and elsewhere) about the 
issue look pretty weak.
